about us

demographics

The Amity Fire District is located in the Northwestern Willamette Valley Region of Oregon. We proudly protect a mostly rural population of approximately 3000 residents, scattered over an area of 85 square miles. Our District includes the city of Amity which is currently populated by about 1600 residents. The Fire District is currently comprised of 46 personnel, of which 42 are volunteers, 1 part time employee and 3 are shared with McMinnville Fire. We operate out of 2 fire stations. Our main station is located in Amity and a substation is located in Perrydale, about 10 miles to the southwest. The District enjoys an ISO rating of a 4 within 5 miles of either station and a 10 for the rest of our district. The Amity Fire District's history dates back to 1895.

serving our community

As a public entity customer service is one of our top priorities. We strive to serve the citizens of our district in an exceptional manner. We are continously looking for ways to improve not only our operations but we also continually look for ways to make our community a safer place to live.

who we are

We are a Strong Volunteer force of your neighbors, your family and your friends. We live in the District we serve and we love the service that we provide, we take pride in the community we live We are your volunteers.

response upgrades

Starting in 2016 with the voters of our district approving the levy we began working on an agreement with the city of McMinnville Fire department to have an ambulance staffed Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM and housed at the Amity Fire District headquarters within the city limits of Amity. This agreement was approved by all parties and the service started immediately following. The advanced life support ambulance always has a minimum staffing of one Firefighter/Paramedic and one Firefighter/EMT Basic. This augmentation of the volunteer staff provides a faster response time to the citizens of our district. Both of the McMinnville Fire department personell not only respond to medical emergencies and traffic accidents but because they are also fully qualified and certified firefighters they have the ability to respond to fires within the district using one of the Amity Fire Districts fire fighting apparatus. We feel that this has improved the service we are able to provide and we continue to look for ways to partner with our surrounding districts.
